| We are committed to keeping kids connected to their heritage so that they are well rounded individuals with a positive self image and a greater sense of community with their peers. In addition, we are committed to creating support groups in bringing together parents of Ethiopian children to share their great common goal of raising self-assured and well-adjusted Ethiopian-Americans. To that end, we organize and sponsor various cultural events, heritage camps, homeland visits. |

We are delighted to bring you the 2010 edition of the Heritage and Culture Camp. As you may already know, our camp is unique in that it is the ONLY Ethiopian camp dedicated to bringing together ALL families raising Ethiopian-American children, whether adopted or biological. We are planning a bigger and better event, and anticipate many more families joining us to enjoy a long weekend full of fun and enriching activities again this year.
Ultimately, it is about our children. Seeing the kids having fun, learning, enjoying themselves, being themselves not worrying about fitting-in is a reward unto itself!! They are all amazing and truly memorable - we treasure each of them. Our goal for the camp is to help you raise confident, well adjusted, Ethiopian-American children - some may say our goals are lofty, but our kids deserve nothing less.
The Heritage and Culture Camp, a not for profit endeavor, is a labor of love by a very dedicated group of volunteers, parents as well as others, who put in hundreds of hours of planning and work to make it a success. During the course of organizing and conducting last year's camp, we met and got to know a great many families and individuals dedicated and committed to the well being of Ethiopian-American children. We very much enjoyed meeting and getting to know all the families who participated in last year's Camp. We are looking forward to seeing all of you again and for the opportunity to renew friendships. We are also very much looking forward to meeting families who will be joining us for the first time.
Finally, we want to acknowledge the feedback and the encouragement you have all given us. It means the world to us!
